Big Island Weekly Lane Closures: Sept. 4-10

Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for Sept. 4-10. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Monday, Sept. 6, in observance of Labor Day, unless permitted. Highway 130 special use lanes will not be operational.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

VOLCANO

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 28 and 32, Crater Rim Drive and Māmalahoa Highway, on Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road striping work.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 103 and 110, between Kiʻilae Road and Napoʻopoʻo Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving work.

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 6 and 8, Macadamia Drive and Keanu 9 ½ mile cp, on Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

— HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

HILO

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 3 and 7, Old Māmalahoa Highway and Halaulani Place, on Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

HILO

Hawaiʻi County has created a detour on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) at mile marker 11.2 for the closure of the Makea Stream Bridge. Motorists should exercise caution and obey signage in the work area.

HĀMĀKUA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 14 and 18, Old Māmalahoa Highway and Nanue Stream, on Saturday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

HĀMĀKUA

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 35.7 and 39.8, Chopper Boulevard and Paʻauilo Hui Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for roadway paving.

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 45 and 48, Mauka Cane Haul Road and Hawaiʻi Belt Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.
