Volcano Transfer Station Temporarily Closed

The Volcano Transfer Station is temporarily closed and is expected to reopen on Thursday, Sept. 2.

Additionally, the and White Goods and Scrap Metal Services in East Hawai‘i at the Volcano, Kea‘au, Pāhoa, and Hilo transfer stations are also unavailable.

Residents in the Volcano Community may take their household-generated waste to the Hilo
Transfer Station, Kea‘au Transfer Station, or the Pāhoa Transfer Station. These alternate facilities will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
