Kealakehe High Records Most New COVID Cases for Week of Aug. 14-19

With 11 new cases, Kealakehe High School had the highest reported COVID-19 infections among all Big Island schools for the week of Aug. 14-19.

The Hawaiʻi Department of Education (HIDOE) reported a total of 383 confirmed staff and student cases statewide. For 276 of the confirmed cases, officials say the infected individual was not on campus during the infectious period.

Ninety student cases and 17 staff cases were on a campus while infectious during the reporting week.

The weekly report, normally released on Fridays, was put out Thursday, Aug. 19, as Friday is Statehood Day. Click here for a more detailed report at school complexes statewide.
