The Hawaiʻi Department Health reports 845 new COVID-19 cases as of Sunday, Aug. 15, bringing the statewide total to 51,200. DOH reports 3,030 hospitalizations and four new COVID-related deaths.

A total of 147 new infections were identified on the Big Island Sunday.

The state’s two-week average jumped to 636 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 7.5%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

A total of 3,030 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 552 have died.
