The Department of Health reported 643 new cases of coronavirus statewide Sunday, bringing the overall total to 46,503. No new COVID-related deaths were also reported.

A total of 116 new cases were identified on the Big Island Sunday, where 1,042 cases are active and 25 individuals are hospitalized.

The state’s two-week average is now 490 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 7.1%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

A total of 2,839 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 542 have died.

To date, a total of 1,774,560 doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide, with 60.6% of the population fully vaccinated and 67.8% having received at least one shot.
