HPD Seeks Missing Pāhoa Man

Police are searching for a missing Pāhoa man.

Eric Carl-Smith, 53, was last seen on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, walking in the area of Apa‘a Road and Pāhoa Village Road wearing a black, short-sleeved t-shirt, blue jeans and slippers. He is known to frequent the Puna and Honoka‘a areas.

He is described as Caucasian with a tan complexion, standing 5-feet, 9-inches tall, weighing 200 to 225 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on Carl-Smith’s whereabouts to call the department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311 and ask for Officer Chezvis Carveiro.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island-wide Crime Stoppers number at (808) 961-8300. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
