HPD Continues to Search for Owner of Kayak Found Adrift in Hilo Bay

Hawai‘i Police Department is renewing its request for the public’s help identifying the owner of a two-person kayak found adrift in Hilo Bay earlier this month.

A kayaker found the yellow, two-person Malibu Series ocean kayak on Friday, July 2, 2021, at 8:57 a.m. and reported it to the Hawai‘i Fire Department.

Police determined there have been no reports of a missing person involving a yellow kayak for the months of May, June, and July.

Anyone with information helping to identify the owner of this kayak is asked to call the police department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311 or contact Officer Daniel Mahi-Murray at [email protected].
