At 12:57 a.m., authorities sent an email indicating both lanes were open on Kahana Drive in Ahualoa.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The Hawai´i County Police Department has issued a road closure message for the Big Island.

Both lanes of Kahana Drive are closed in Ahualoa, approximately 400 yards east of the Old Māmalahoa Highway intersection, due to a downed tree and power lines.
No timetable has been issued for the road’s reopening. Use Kalehua Road as an alternative route.
