Grab Coffee With a Cop in Kona at Two Events in July

Two “Coffee With a Cop” events are scheduled for Kailua-Kona in July.

The Hawai‘i Police Department invites area residents to attend the talk story sessions this month in Kona. The events will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the following dates:

  • Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Kona Mountain Coffee Co., 73-4038 Hulikoa Drive
  • Friday, July 23, 2021, at Kona Coffee & Tea, 74-5588 Palani Road, in the Kona Coast Shopping Center

Coffee with a Cop” encourages community members to get to know their police officers over a cup of coffee. These events have no listed agenda, and topics of conversation can range from sharing personal stories to discussing neighborhood issues.
  
County-mandated social distancing guidelines of maintaining six feet of social distancing and the use of face coverings will be observed. Tables and chairs will be sanitized after each use. This event will be subject to change with regard to COVID-19 restrictions and or additional proclamations issued by county and state government.

The South Kohala Community Policing Section will also host a “Coffee with a Cop” event in Waimea on Wednesday, July 14, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Starbucks in the Parker Ranch Center located at 67-1185 Māmalahoa Highway.
