Hawai‘i Sees Triple Digit Cases Sunday

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 102 new cases of coronavirus statewide Sunday, bringing the overall total to 38,481. Two new COVID-related deaths were reported.

12 new cases were identified on the Big Island Sunday. The state’s two-week average is 58 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 2.2%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 27,494
Maui: 3,922
Hawai‘i: 3,280
Kaua‘i: 414
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 56
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,398

A total of 2,524 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 521 have died.

To date, more than 1.7 million doses of coronavirus vaccine have been administered statewide.
