DOH Reports 47 New COVID-19 Cases Statewide

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 47 new cases of coronavirus statewide Saturday, bringing the overall total to 37,933. No new COVID-related deaths were also reported.

Five new cases were reported on the Big Island Saturday with 90 active cases and five persons hospitalized, according to DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 43 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.5%. A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 27,190
Maui: 3,889
Hawai‘i: 3,208
Kaua‘i: 385
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 56
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,323

A total of 2,488 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 518 have died.

To date, a total of 1,690,038 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide.
