Police Seek Public’s Finding Runaway Ka‘ū Teen

Hawai‘i Police seek the public’s help locating a Ka‘ū teen reported as a runaway.

Seventeen-year-old La‘akea Martins was last seen Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 10 p.m., in Nā‘ālehu. She is described as being 5-feet-5-inches tall, 140 pounds, having a medium build with light brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes and is believed to frequent the Ka‘ū and Puna Districts.

Anyone with any information on La‘akea’s whereabouts is asked to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311, or Officer Isaac Michaels of the Ka‘ū Patrol Division at 808-939-2520.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island-wide Crime Stoppers number at 808-961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
