New COVID Infections Continue Downward Trend

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 20 new cases of coronavirus statewide Tuesday, bringing the overall total to 37,387. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.

Four new cases were reported on the Big Island Tuesday, according to DOH statistics.

The state’s two-week average is 37 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.1%. A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

Maui: 3,834
Hawai‘i: 3,143
Kaua‘i: 345
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 55
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,268

A total of 2,424 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 513 have died.

To date, a total of 1,653,324 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide.
