Hilo Airport Partially Closes Runway

The Hawai´i Department of Transportation has partially closed a runway at the Hilo Airport (ITO) until further notice.

Runway 8/26 at Hilo Airport will be closed between dusk and dawn due to misfunctioning lights. The problem is currently under invstigation.

Runway 3/21 is available but travelers with flights scheduled to or from ITO in the evening hours should check with their airlines for possible changes. For instance, a United Airlines flight from LAX into Hilo set for Saturday evening has been cancelled.
