Partial road closure in South Kona is scheduled for Wednesday, June 9, to allow for further investigation into a crash that left an Ocean View teen dead last month.
This morning, Hawai‘i Police announced the closure would take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Highway 11, .1 mile south of mile marker 95 in South Kona. One lane will be closed during this period.
The closure will allow for HPD’s Area II Traffic Enforcement Unit to conduct further investigation into the single-vehicle crash on May 21 that left 18-year-old Alona Taetuna-Kaluau dead.
Motorists are asked to drive with caution during this time. Plan for trips taking longer than normal due to the partial road closure.
