64 New COVID Cases Reported Statewide

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 64 new cases of coronavirus Saturday. The statewide total is now 36,535. One new COVID-related death was reported.

Nine new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island Saturday, where the Hawai‘i Community Correctional Center continues to address an outbreak at its facility. The state’s two-week average is 54 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.1%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

A total of 2,355 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 502 have died.

Approximately 1.5 million vaccine doses have been administered statewide.
