A single-story home along with two vehicles was destroyed in a fire in Kea‘au this morning.

At approximately 7:20 a.m., Hawai‘i Fire Department received a call regarding a structure fire on the 16-1000 block of 37th Avenue in the Orchidland subdivision. When crews arrived on scene they found the 900-square-foot wooden structure engulfed in flames along with two vehicles.

The flames were extinguished using attack lines and tank water. The fire was confined to the initial residence and vehicles. No exposures or surrounding homes were involved.

HFD conducted a search of the area and found no one in the residence or the vehicles. The blaze is currently under investigation.
