Statewide COVID Cases Drop Below 50 Wednesday

The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 47 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday. The statewide total is now 33,376. One new COVID-related death was also reported.

One new case of the virus was identified on the Big Island Wednesday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 78 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate with 1.4%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

A total of 2,194 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 489 have died.
