Winter Weather Advisory

UPDATE: The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Haleakala Summit and Big Island Summits above 9,000 feet until 6 pm this evening.

A passing disturbance aloft is producing snow showers above 9,000 feet on Haleakala and the Big Island summits. Chances for snow will diminish late this afternoon and evening.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
