Community COVID-19 Testing Islandwide Saturday

Three district tests for COVID-19 are scheduled across the Big Island Saturday.

One is in Hilo at the Afook-Chinen Auditorium from 8 am until noon. Another is in North Kona at the West Hawai´i Civic Center from 9 am until 1 pm. The third is in Puna at Kea´au High School from 1 pm to 5 pm.

The State Department of Health is monitoring 101 active COVID-19 cases in Hawai´i County. New cases are being detected within the community and it is important that everyone continue following the preventive policies of wearing face coverings, social distancing, and limiting gathering sizes to no more than 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors. 

The Department of Health has announced beginning Monday, March 29, persons age 60 and older will be eligible for vaccination registration. If you have questions regarding vaccine availability for your age group, contact the Department of Health at 808-300-1120. You can also visit the Civil Defense website for a list of all clinics and pharmacies providing vaccinations.
