Big Island police are seeking public information following an incident at the Honokohau Small Boat Harbor last week, which has left one person in critical condition.

A 46-year-old Alaska man is currently being treated at Kona Community Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition, after being seriously injured while performing maintenance on a vehicle located at the harbor on Friday, March 19.

Responding to a 2:08 pm call, police determined that a light blue 1993 Ford F250 pickup truck had run over the man as he was working underneath a vehicle in the parking lot of the Big Island Sailing Foundation at the north side of the harbor. No one was in the vehicle at the time of the accident, police said.

The victim has not yet been positively identified.
