High Surf Advisory Extended

The National Weather Service has extended a high surf advisory for east-facing shores of the Big Island until 6 pm Thursday.
Surf 5 to 8 feet is expected Wednesday night, building to 7 to 10 feet Thursday.
Impacts are expected to be moderate. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong currents making swimming dangerous.
Heed all advice from ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
