Training at Pōhakuloa Training Area will continue to increase through the end of March and into April bringing more than 2,000 troops on base.

Military training for the month of March consists of artillery and mortar live fire, small arms marksmanship, aviation gunnery and unmanned aerial systems. Local residents can expect to see, or hear, military aircraft supporting the ongoing training through the end of the month and into April.

One convoy is scheduled this month for March 14 from 8-11 a.m. departing from PTA to Kawaihae.

As a reminder, in the interest of safety for everyone on Hawaii Island, all service members training at PTA are prohibited from leaving the base, unless authorized by Lt. Colonel Borce, Commander of PTA.
