HPD Seeks Teenaged Runaway

Big Island police are looking for a teenaged runaway.

HPD is asking for the public’s assistance to locate 13-year-old Daniel Soares of Mountain View, who was reported as a runaway.

Soares was last seen on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 25, 2021, in the Fern Acres subdivision in Mountain View. He is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 100 to 120 pounds, with reddish brown hair and brown eyes. Soares was last observed wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and unknown colored shorts.

Police ask anyone with information on Soares’ whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at (808) 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers is a volunteer program run by ordinary citizens who want to keep their community safe. Crime Stoppers does not record calls or subscribe to any Caller ID service. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
