Is your garage filled with hazardous materials that might contaminate the island or the community’s drinking water?

Hawai‘i County is offering household waste collection services at two recycling transfer stations next month. They will be held in Waimea on Saturday, March 6 and in Pāhoa on Sunday, March 7. Hours of collection will be from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Types of waste that will be collected include motor oil, poisons and other hazardous materials. No business or farm waste is allowed. Do not bring latex paint or electronics. For a full list of accepted materials, go online or call 808-961-8554.

Social distancing protocol must be observed. Remember to wear a mask and remain in your vehicle.
