The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for the entire state of Hawai‘i into the weekend.
Surf peaking at between 7 and 10 feet is forecast for east-facing shores as well as northern and southern portions of the Big Island through Saturday at 6 am.
Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.
Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
