Kawaihae Road Now Open

Both traffic lanes have reopened on Kawaihae Road near the Kanehoa Street intersection at mile marker 62 after a truck and trailer tipped on its side.
According to Hawaii County Police, the driver was traveling up Kawaihae Road when for an unknown reason went off the roadway. Crews are working to remove the semi-truck from the affected area.
Lanes were closed for approximately two hours.
