COSME FORMS WELL OFFSHORE OF SOUTHWEST MEXICO
At 5 a.m., the center of newly formed Tropical Storm Cosme was located near latitude 15.6°N, longitude 115.7°W.
Cosme is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph and this general motion is expected to continue today, followed by a turn to the NW on Sunday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph, with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours, with some weakening anticipated by late Monday.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 150 miles from the center.

ONCE POWERFUL HURRICANE BARBARA DEGENERATES INTO A POST-TROPICAL
CYCLONE
Weakening Tropical Storm Barbara, centered about 1,075 miles east of Hilo, is expected to cross longitude 140°W into the Central Pacific Hurricane Center Area of Responsibility later this morning as a post-tropical gale low.
At 5 a.m., the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Barbara was located near latitude 18.7°N, longitude 139.2°W.
The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the west near 17 mph and this motion is expected to continue during the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph, with higher gusts.
The system is forecast to dissipate in a few days.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km) from the center.
