The bulk of training at Pōhakuloa Training Area in June 2019 will occur between June 7 and 15, with U.S. Army units conducting small arms marksmanship, helicopter gunnery, vehicle convoy live-fire and troop transport via helicopter into the training areas.

Additionally, there will be cargo bundle and paratrooper parachute drops in the Keamuku Training Area (to the area north of Daniel K. Inouye Highway and south of Waiki‘i Ranch) June 25 to 27 by the US Air Force.

The next heavy period of training is June 24 to 30, involving artillery live-fire and helicopter gunnery by the US Marine Corps.

In the future, if periods occur such as those list above when training is more concentrated than normal, PTA Public Affairs will notify the community in advance.

No additional convoys are planned for PTA this month; the community will be notified if additional convoy requests are received for this month.

PTA greatly appreciates the understanding, patience and continued support of Hawai‘i Island communities.

To report concerns related to noise, training, or convoy movements, or be added to the community distribution list, contact PTA Public Affairs Officer Mike Donnelly at (808) 969-2411 or [email protected].
