HFD Responds to Residential Fire in Hilo

The Hawai‘i Fire Department responded to a two-story residential structure fire located at 180 Mauna Loa St. in Hilo at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018.
Upon arrival, the upper story of the structure was fully involved in flames. All occupants were out and accounted for and there was no obvious damage to surrounding structures.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. The north side bedroom nearest the entry door was identified as a possible point of origin as it sustained the heaviest damage.
The fire was suppressed and all occupants accounted were for. The fire was out at 11:08 a.m. and the scene was turned over to fire inspectors for ongoing investigation.
