With the 2018 Primary Election just four days away on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, Gov. David Ige announced in a Team Ige press release that Big Island Mayor Harry Kim has endorsed his run for reelection.
“Kīlauea erupted in force that we have never seen and Gov. Ige responded without hesitation,” said Mayor Kim. “He coordinated all of his departments, military and National Guard, which is unbelievable, and the support continues today as the emergency goes on. He came through.”
Mayor Kim’s endorsement recognizes Gov. Ige’s collaborative and selfless leadership, the press release said.
