After a lifetime of support for local causes, Henry has created the HKF. The organization’s mission is “to support and strengthen our community through music and the arts and by giving with aloha.” The HKF will support local organizations with a primary focus on local arts, culture and music.

First Hawaiian Bank has a long tradition of supporting the Arts and Culture in the community. The partnership with the Henry Kapono Foundation is another way the bank is continuing this tradition of supporting the arts through music. In celebration of its 160th anniversary, Kapono will perform and signing autographs noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, at the First Hawaiian Bank Made in Hawaii Festival being held at the Neal Blaisdell Center. CDs will be available for sale at the Festival with artists popping in for autograph sessions at the FHB booth Aug. 17 through 19. The bank is also the presenting sponsor for both the Aug. 25 Kapono & FRIENDS concert at the Waikiki Shell and the Aug. 26 Kapono & FRIENDS concert at the Maui Arts and Culture Center.
