Grammy-nominated and award-winning entertainer Henry Kapono announced on July 25, 2018, that The Songs of C&K, produced in partnership with First Hawaiian Bank, is available on CD with digital download for $20.

The CD is available exclusively at First Hawaiian Bank branches from July 25 through Sept. 25, with the net proceeds from the sale of The Songs of C&K to benefit the Henry Kapono Foundation (HKF). A limited edition vinyl edition will be available for $25 in mid-August at select First Hawaiian Bank branches.

On the 45th anniversary of the legendary group C&K, the recording will feature timeless classics from Henry’s career, which have become anthems for the people of Hawai‘i, a veritable soundtrack for local life over the last four decades. The project features Kapono reimagining his most iconic song’s in collaboration with ten of Hawai‘i’s next generation of rising local musicians.

On the recording, Kapono brings together some of Hawai‘i’s most talented and successful young artists featuring Alx Kawakami, Blayne Asing, Josh Tatofi, Kalani Pe‘a, Kimié Miner, Landon McNamara, Mike Love, Paula Fuga, Tavana and Starr Kalahiki, most of whom will appear at the First Hawaiian Main Banking Center in Honolulu (999 Bishop St.) on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. for a meet-and-greet and autograph session.

After a lifetime of support for local causes, Henry has created the HKF. The organization’s mission is “to support and strengthen our community through music and the arts and by giving with aloha.” The HKF will support local organizations with a primary focus on local arts, culture and music.

First Hawaiian Bank has a long tradition of supporting the Arts and Culture in the community. The partnership with the Henry Kapono Foundation is another way the bank is continuing this tradition of supporting the arts through music. In celebration of its 160th anniversary, Kapono will perform and signing autographs noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, at the First Hawaiian Bank Made in Hawaii Festival being held at the Neal Blaisdell Center. CDs will be available for sale at the Festival with artists popping in for autograph sessions at the FHB booth Aug. 17 through 19. The bank is also the presenting sponsor for both the Aug. 25 Kapono & FRIENDS concert at the Waikiki Shell and the Aug. 26 Kapono & FRIENDS concert at the Maui Arts and Culture Center.
