Looking Ahead

A plume of tropical moisture over the Hawaiian Islands will produce periods of showers across the islands through Saturday. An upper level trough will move into the region from the northwest today enhancing shower activity across the western half of the state with an elevated flash flood threat for Kauai County and Oahu. High pressure will build across the Central Pacific from Sunday onward bringing a drying trend across the islands, more typical windward shower activity in moderate to breezy trade winds for the first half of next week. Elevated moisture will linger near the Big Island on Monday and Tuesday enhancing showers along the windward slopes of Maui and the Big Island.
