“Giving from the heart” and “passionate about our patients” is how Cindy Kamikawa, president of the North Hawaii‘ Community Hospital, and other leaders described the hospital’s volunteers.

The hospital’s volunteers were recognized on Thursday, April 18, 2018, at a special luncheon created by the nutrition services staff, as part of National Volunteer Appreciation Week.

North Hawai‘i Community Hospital’s volunteers have a variety of duties ranging from greeting patients and providing directions, to delivering magazines and other comfort items to patients, as well as providing office assistance in department such as the emergency room and rehabilitation services.
