High Surf Advisory in Effect; All Roads Open

The National Weather Service High Surf Warning has been cancelled.
A High Surf Advisory is now in effect for Hawai‘i Island for the shorelines of Kohala, Hamakua, Hilo and Puna through tonight, Friday, March 23, 2018.
A High Surf Advisory means there is a threat to life and property from the surf.
Due to the High Surf Advisory, the following are in effect:
- Parks and Recreation Department reports the Hilo Bay Front Canoe Halau area will remain closed until clean-up is completed.
- Oceanfront residents and beachgoers along the affected shores are advised to be on the alert for high surf.
