Portland-based indie rock band Nervous Jenny will be touring Hawai‘i Island beginning Friday, Mar. 9, with four live shows scheduled in Hilo, Kona, Kealakekua and Waimea.
Influenced by the genres of British Blues Invasion, Modern and Americana Rock, the trio’s music is described as a “killer cocktail of sound,” blending gritty vocals, urgent guitar hooks, sweet harmonies and lock-step rhythms. The band’s upcoming performances will feature original songs off their debut album “Silverado” as well as cover songs.
Formed in the prolific tried and true music scene of Portland, Oregon, Nervous Jenny officially came together after a four-hour jam session.

“We wanted to sing about these complicated times in uncomplicated ways, knowing we might not change the world, but maybe how you experience it,” says the biography on the band’s website.
Nervous Jenny consists of Tom Holland on guitar and vocals, Mick Ramsell on bass and vocals, and Jolie Clausen on drums and vocals. They are scheduled to perform at the following times and locations:
Korner Pocket in Kealakekua – Friday, Mar. 9, from 8 to 11 p.m.;
Hilo Town Tavern in Hilo – Saturday, Mar. 10, from 9 p.m. to midnight;
Big Island Brewhaus in Waimeam – Friday, Mar. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m.;
Gertrude’s Jazz Bar in Kailua-Kona on St. Patrick’s Day – Saturday, Mar. 17, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
