The Hawai‘i Fire Department (HFD) responded to an unoccupied single-story structure fire in Pāhoa on U‘ilani Drive on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018.
At 2:09 p.m. HFD was alerted to the fire and firefighters were on the scene 10 minutes later at 2:19 p.m.
The situation found on the scene was a single-story dwelling structure fire that was approximately 50% to 60% on fire. The fire was extinguished at 3:30 p.m.
The cause of this fire is undetermined.
No other homes were threatened and fire personnel were able to contain the flames to the building of origin.
