Town Hall Meeting on Little Fire Ant Control

The public is invited to attend a town hall panel discussion on Little Fire Ant control methods with experts in the field on Feb. 13, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kea‘au Community Center located at 16-186 Pili Mua St. in Kea‘au.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • Effective treatment methods
  • Community programs
  • The status of fire ants at the county green waste facilities
  • Fire ant issues specific to attendees.

Hosted by Puna Councilmember Jen Ruggles, the Hawai‘i Ant Lab, Big Island Invasive Species Council and the Little Fire Ant Hui will be presenting followed by a question and answer session. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions and something to take notes with.
