Hawai‘i Lt. Gov. Doug Chin, Democratic candidate for Hawai‘i’s First congressional district, issued the following statement on the second shutdown of the Federal government in as many months on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.
“As chairman of the Conference of Western Attorneys General, I forged bipartisan solutions on tough issues facing our nation among a diverse coalition of progressive and conservative states,” said Lt. Gov. Chin. “The people of Hawai‘i—and the thousands of families who work for the Federal government—deserve better than the dysfunctional cycle of shouting and shutdowns on display in Washington, D.C.”
