Synopsis

Deep tropical moisture will remain over the central and eastern islands through Wednesday night, resulting in periods of locally heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. A cold front will push slowly down the island chain from Oahu to the Big Island through Wednesday night, with a cooler and drier air mass filling in following the frontal passage. The cool, dry weather pattern is expected to linger through Friday. Another weak front will approach Kauai Friday night, with trades becoming established across the state during the start of the Christmas Holiday Weekend. The winds will become weak again early next week as a slightly stronger front approaches the state from the northwest.
