The Santa Cause is a campaign that is hoping to redefine the image of Santa Claus into a more efficient tool to help the sick and needy.

We preach to children that Santa is an “unlimited giver” and they really believe! So, why should Santa Claus be some lie parents tell their children?

During the holidays, Santa Claus can be seen visiting children in hospitals, often bringing gifts that were often donated to help put a smile on a child’s face. While awesome for all those that take part, wouldn’t it be more effective if a portion of all sales using the likeness of Santa went to helping out those same children? From movies to merchandise to ad campaigns, we look at Santa as being an untapped resource to help the sick during the holiday season.

I would love to get your opinion, if possible on this new type of concept for Santa Claus. If we are willing to promote Santa to sick children, and claim he is real, why couldn’t we make sure all was being done to help these children. While receiving a present and a photo op with Santa is nice, using all that money spent on Santa’s likeness to help those that need it the most would be even nicer.
