AARP Hawaiʻi invites the public to learn how to make the Big Island a better place to live and how you can help in the effort at an AARP in Action breakfast in Hilo on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017.

AARP volunteers in Hilo supported a free Movies for Grownups screening at the Regal Theatres at the Kuhio Mall earlier this year. PC: Craig Gima/AARP Hawai‘i

AARP Hawaiʻi puts on free workshops for caregivers, helps kūpuna prepare their taxes, advocates to protect social security and medicaid, fights fraud and holds other activities throughout the year to help people chose how they live as they age.

AARP Hawaiʻi staff will outline plans and activities for 2018 and will explain how you can join them as an outreach, advocacy or communication volunteer.

The breakfast is at the Church of the Holy Cross located at 440 W. Lanikaula St. from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
