The Hilo High School Vikings won its first-ever Hawai‘i State Football Championship by beating Damien Memorial High by the score of 35-19 at Aloha Stadium on O‘ahu Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017.

Hilo came back from a first-quarter deficit to beat Damien in the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Division I State Football Championships.
The Vikings won their first state tournament game after beating Maui 26-7 last week to get there and capped the season with their program’s first state football title.
