Malama Hale in Kailua-Kona has earned “Accredited Member” status from the National Home Watch Association (NHWA).The NHWA was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada.

Home Watch is a service that “keeps an eye on things” at your vacation or primary home while you are not in residence.

Owners Steven and Jennifer Lacy

Owners Steven and Jennifer Lacy established Malama Hale as a result of their identifying the need for a second set of hands to care for the home while the homeowner is away for an extended period of time.

Steven is a plumber by trade with over 25 years of experience. During his career, he has made countless repairs due to homeowners discovering that there was a water pipe breakage or leakage while they were away, causing major damage to the flooring and surrounding areas.

Jennifer worked in the environmental consulting field in California for 12 years and currently manages two businesses in Hawai‘i.

A broken pipe can be prevented by routine inspections. Malama Hale is part of the preventive solution to this problem. It has a comprehensive inspection checklist that is reviewed during each visit and an electronic copy of the report is emailed to the client within 48 hours of the inspection.
