Road Closure Update: Route 190 Waimea Side of Bypass Rd in Kamuela

Update 10:15 a.m.: The Hawai‘i Police Department reports that Route 190, near Ala Ohia Road (By-pass roadway) in Kamuela is now open.
Route 190 was previously closed due to a truck bringing down a utility wire.
Motorist are asked to proceed with caution as crews will be in the area conducting repairs off of Route 190, approaching Waimea Town.

At 9:40 a.m., the Hawai‘i Police Department reported the temporary closure of Route 190 leading into Waimea Town due to a downed utility wire.
Police say traffic heading towards Waimea Town from North Kona will be diverted through Ala Ohia Road (By-Pass Roadway).
Motorist are asked to avoid this location as crews conducts repairs.
