The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for North facing shores of Hawaiʻi Island to include north facing exposures of Puna shorelines.
Surf is expected to peak at 10 to 15 feet overnight and gradually subside through the weekend.
Oceanfront residents and beach-goers along affected shores are advised to be on alert for possible high and dangerous surf.
The NWS asks to exercise caution due to the unpredictability of huge swells and dangerous surf.
