Structure Fire in Hawaiian Acres

Big Island firefighters arrived at the scene of a fire at a single-story structure in the Hawaiian Acres subdivision on the corner of Road 4 and G Rd late Sunday night.

Firefighters arrived to the corner of Road 4 and G Rd at 9:39 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, to find the one-story structure fully involved in flames; the fire was extinguished at 11:27 p.m.

There were no injuries and evacuations were required. The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.

The home was abandoned in a remote area of Hawaiian Acres. Firefighters from the Pāhoa and Keaʻau Fire stations extinguished and overhauled the scene.

There were no signs of recent habitation and the scene was turned over to the Hawaiʻi Police Department.
