4.0 Magnitude Quake off Hawaiian Islands

A preliminary earthquake report shows a 4.0 magnitude earthquake occurred around 7:51 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, about 83 miles off of Hawaiʻi’s coast.
The US Geological Survey’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory recorded the quake and noted its location, 83.3 miles SSW of Kaumalapau, Hawaiʻi, and 97.9 miles SSW of Lahaina, at a depth of roughly 10 miles.
The earthquake was located:
80.8 miles SSW of Kaumalapau
96 miles W of Kailua-Kona
95.5 miles SSW of Lahaina
98.6 miles SW of Kīhei
113.3 miles SSE of Honolulu
There are no tsunami warnings, watches, or advisories posted at this time.
