HOVE Fire Destroys Abandoned Structure

Hawai‘i Fire Department Company 20 arrived on scene of a single-story residential structure blaze at the intersection of Koa Lane and Lei Parkway in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates Subdivision on Thursday, Oct. 5, 12:11 a.m., 2017.

The approximately 600-square-foot structure was fully engulfed in flames.

The fire was brought under control about an hour later and finally extinguished approximately two hours later.

The residence appeared to be abandoned.  No injuries were reported.

Structure was a total loss, estimated at approximately $15,000.

The cause of the fire is unknown but under investigation.
