A preliminary earthquake report from the U.S. Geological Survey indicates that a 3.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at 8:21 this morning on the Island of Hawai‘i about 31 miles SSW of HIlo.

As of 8:39 a.m., no tsunami warning was issued by NOAA’s National Weather Service Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
